Are there any training/course material, guidelines, organizations or the like that someone can use to become more fluent in HT design and installation. I am very seriously considering a business venture in Home automation as well as HT design and installation. Also, since I don't necessarilly need to be the guru, any advise on how to find qualified candidates.

Thanks in advance...

"Qualified candidates"? In 16 years I've never seen a time when there was such a critical shortage of people. Designers, final installation, and wire pullers are very hot properties these days. Best of luck.
