PT Barnum's words were never more true!

Apparently not, but it's an intriguing story nonetheless.

Good catch, very interesting.
I apologize to Mr. Barnum.
I stand corrected.
Mr. Hannum's words were never more true.

How have I missed this thread for so long!

You people are amazing...same types that will buy that real rolex in NYC for 30 bucks. I don't care who coined the saying, barnum, hannum, bailey or ringling, it still applies.

I ran into these guys selling speakers out of vans in PA back in 97, they followed me to Salt Lake City in 2000, caught up with me in Portland and Seattle a couple times and what do you know now they found me in Vegas....sales pitch is still the same and I'm still not buying.

I do like when they roll up on me at Home Depot..must figure a young fella driving a german car likes a good deal. I actually like to engage them in conversation, trip them up in lies, not let on who I am or what I do, waste their time, check the stuff out, read the magazine...just mess with them. I then act like I'm getting a call, answer it and just walk off without saying anything....they get kind of mad and that makes me happy.

I knew a guy who bought one of those "Rolex" watches. He was really proud of himself until someone pointed out that Rolex was spelled with one "l" not two (Rollex).

LOL please don't...I'm trying to keep some faith in the average consumer's level of intelligence.

Rollex...too funny! The second hand probably sweeped counterclockwise too. "nah man don't worry about that...that's how all Rollex's work"

This guy sells them on Craigslist all the time. It's a Washington number, so if any of you that got scammed are from seattle, call this guy. He can probably help.

I'm so going to use that one.... Screw the speaker scam artists. Anytime I get in one of those conversations you wish you could just walk away from... (wonder how many times the better half would fall for it..???)

Trust me it's not worth it. I took a purse up the back side of my head from an ex many years ago. Your results may vary :-)

I am new to the Scottsdale AZ area and just got scammed for $150.00 on the theater logic L5 system. They had some nice Kliptsh towers, good fake ads showing the high retail prices, and all the crap you all have said. Seemed like nice guys, but come on.... Can't believe I fell for it, for me its not about the money, its the lack of dignity in some people. They will get theirs some day, karma always comes around to even up. Meanwhile anyone want a $150 dollar system?

Haha...now they're trying to make them look like a legitimate brand?

Reminds me of the AA batteries I bought on a street corner in New York City once. They looked exactly like Duracell, but were called "Powercell." I knew they weren't good batteries ahead of time, but it was $1.00 for 16 of them.

I tried them out briefly in something...they actually worked, but being as light as a feather they couldn't have lasted very long.

But the best part is that if you dropped them from about 3-4 feet off the ground, they would explode on contact.
LET'S GO BUFFALO!!!

Oh Boy!! I guess I am another sucker!! I pride myself on not being too gulible but this time the "dumb blonde" showed up. I bought this Theatre Logic 5.1 Sur.Snd. sys.*NOT from a van or truck but, by a pawn shop down the road. The price tag said $299.99 and I talked him down to $250, all proud of myself--hopped into by rusted 3 wheel & 1 donut junker, head up high; I drove off. What is the deal with these remotes? Mine got lost too. After getting home; I set up the system-no box-no info-NO WEBSITE-The receiver actually has a small price tag underneith that said $250.00 on it. Obviously that is what the pawn shop bought it for and just couldn't wait for a "chumpess" to walk in. Atleast they got back what they got conned for. And yes; they showed me the magazine with the same system for $450.00. However, I didn't buy it thinking it was a steal price, I bought it because they had it playing in the store and it sounded GREAT. They failed to tell me HOW IMPORTANT IT IS the remote was it's the ONLY WAY the thing works. I would have put the remote behind glass or something. Now that it's gone, I desparately need a universal remote and code that works on it. Does anyone know of a universal remote brand or even what code gets this DAGNABBIT RAP STATION OFF!
