When I am viewing in any widescreen mode I can see a grid of faint white lines on the TV, running diagonally across the screen. The lines show when watching anything with a dark background and are very annoying when watching a DVD. The lines dissapear when in 4:3 mode. Is this a limitation with widesceen TVs or do I have a problemwith my TV. Any help with this problem would be most appreciated. I think that they are retrace lines. I can see the lines on all channels. They are best viewed on AV3 with no input(Black back ground). Looking at the 4:3 screen there is no evidence of the lines. It is only when the set is switched to 16:9 mode that the problem occurs. Has anybody out there any ideas on the cause.

I'm kind of wondering??is the lines at the edges of the 4:3 mode? If so, I've seen some burn in on floor models for rear projection TV's, and some customer sets that rarely get the 16:9 use. I'm not totally sure if this is the problem you are having. The other thing is horizontal lines that are a ground loop problem, these usually move from bottom to top of screen. I hope this kinda helps.
