I have a Denon AVR-3300 and have my Toshiba 2109 DVD hooked to the Coax digital input. I would like to also hook my Denon cd changer up to the digital coax input. Within the setup of the 3300 you can choose the same input for multiple sources. My question is how can I utilize this single input for multiple components? Does anybody make a switchbox for this application?

Hey Josh,

Wow, looking over the Denon line of CD players, you'd think they would have more than one coax in on the 3300.
Anyway, any RCA Y-adapter or composite video switcher should do the trick for you. So you can spend as much or as little as you want.

Thanks for the info.

The Y-adapter worked. The only problem is that I was wrong in my statment that the 3300 allowed me to select a single input for multiple sources. So I have to change the setup if I want to listen to the digital input.

Why not just use the Optical (toslink) for your DVD and the coaxial for your CD. It works for me and flawlessly, I might add.

This is a question that I finaly came up with a answer for. This thing is epesialy good if you have a componet that requires you to have to scroll threw your digital inputs such as on a Sony EP9ES Dolby Digital decoder and you want to have direct access say like when switching inputs with your Pronto. It is called the Digital Director you can see it at [Link: msbtech.com]
I am going to get one in about another week. Although its not realy cheap its not realy expensive either and solver a major problem like the one above.

Hope this helps

The 2109 doesn't have an optical output.

Hey Josh,

How does the 3300 handle stuff in the analog domain? Does it convert all analog to digital?

You might try the analog outs on the CD and see (listen) if there is a significant difference to you?
