I have a Sony KV-28FX60U, if I power off to Standby is the TV safe to leave? is it using a lot of power? When I hit the power on/off button it does sound like the TV has actually "switched Off" is it the same as the VCR,SAT,AV-Amp,etc. all left in standy mode.

Any advice?

I'm not sure exactly what your concern is. But yes, some of the TV's electronics are in "standby" mode -- otherwise it wouldn't be able to sense the remote control to power up. But it uses little power.

Thanks DT for the advice. My concern is, are Tv's safe to leave as a day to day thing in standby, like we all do with our VCR's SAT boxes etc. My sony instructions do not qoute the amount of power used in standby.

Thanks DW
