Okay Velodyne or Sunfire? Anyone have a clue?

Well Michael,
Only in answer to the where question.

Got an issue of Home Theater magazine? In their directory in the back look for the Hifi House in Pennsylvania. They sell the Velodyne. I've gotten some good deals there and they ship very quickly.

I'm on the road right now so don't have that number handy, sorry.

Also check out eBay, I've also gotten some great deals there.

I have a Velodyne HGS10 for sale. Excellent sub for small to medium home theatre rooms. I have owned both the Velo and Sunfire. The Sunfire was approximately 3DB louder when comparring test signals with a spectrum ananlyzer in a 12' X 14' room. Yes louder, but it was not as precise and disortion was evedent when achieveing the 3DB gain. Both units are superb in construction and quality. Less than 1 cubic foot takes up almost no floor space to boot. The Velo uses a 3000 watt Peak amp which drives a servo controlled 10" sub. The Sunfire uses a 2700 watt peak amp to drive a little bit smaller sub and relys on a passive radiator for its lower frequency response and odd harmonics cancellation. The Velo speaker is covered by a grill and is flushmounted into the enclosure, while the Sunfire speaker and passive radiator are mounted with the surrounds and cones hanging off the enclosure. No major deal except that actual damage is more likely to occur when handling the sub. A big consideration if you have small children or pets. I hope this has helped you some. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me directly.

Thanks,
LISNUP
