My family is building a new home.. and with it
comes a brand new home theater system..
We already kinda chose the speakers, I'm still not sure about the DVD and Receiver.

The speakers are:
Front - B&W - 604s2.
Center - B&W - cc6s2.
Rear - CWM800 / 601s2-602s2 (might be a problem with drilling for the CW800)
Sub - ENERGY e:XL-S8

As for a receiver I thought about the Denon AVR3300.. (since the avr5700 isn't available here [Israel], the AVC-A1D is, but it costs around 30,000nis which is about 7500$).
Will the avr3300 (2450$ btw) go well with the B&W speakers?
Anyone got a better suggestion?

And what about a dvd? I heard the denon dvd2500 is pretty good (costs 1750$ here), I thought about the dvd5000 of denon but it costs 5500$ over here..
What about Kenwood DVF-9010 (1500$)?
I mean is there such a great difference?

What about all the other companies, anything else to suggest?

Hey Bio,

Where abouts in Israel? My girlfriend is from Hertzilia.(I don't think I spelled that correctly,my apologies)

Anyway, Denon is a very solid brand and the 3300 is a great reciever. As for DVD players, you really can't buy a bad one at this point. Certainly not from the major names. Just pick the features you need on the brand you like.

My only question for you is how big a room are you allocating to the theater? Will the 3300 be able to fill the room?

And can't some one bring you back something from the States? $2500 for a $1000 receiver is just wow.

The room is about 3mx6m.. like a part of the living room.. it's not ment to fill the whole room.. only the tv section of it.. (the speakers aren't in the corners of the rooms).

If someone (like my bro that lives in US) brings something here, he still gonna have to pay taxes of like 200%.. and i won't have a guarantee if something goes wrong, as it usually does..

I live in Ramat-Hashron, Hertzilia is the neighbor city.. like 20min on foot..

I'm going back to the army tomorrow (a must here if u don't know), so unless u add any other info today, i won't see it till next friday..

Bio.

Oh, yes, I do know. My girlfriend's brother just got out.

And as she reminded me there's also the 220 problem. Finding similar stuff that's 220.

And based on the info you sent me, you should have no wattage problems. Although with the space you have off to the sides, you may have to tweak the sub a bit.

Good luck and have fun with the new system,

Paul
