Does such a beast exist? It would seem really handy to be able to EQ each channel in a surround setup.

I really like my NAD amp, so I'm not so interested in the all-in-one-including-EQ solutions (Sony comes to mind).

I'd love to find some top-flight 6-channel decoder + processor.

I'm not aware of a combo solution for EQ and processor, but Rane makes a great EQ (SSE35 or THX22/44 combo)as well as Audio Contol (Bijou). Their are plenty of good processors out there, Proceed, Meridian, etc. I haven't used one yet, but I have hear that the new Parasound AVC-2500 is quite an impressive processor also.

Happy Hunting...Derek

The Parasound AVC-2500 is a nice processor. Just got one a couple of months ago and am very pleased with it as well as the folks at Parasound.

You can read a couple of recent reviews in Audio and Widescreen Review. The Jan. 2000 issues of both.

I got a great deal on it as well so if you're interested in the 2500 let me know and I'll pass on the source.

Thanks for the replies! The AudioControl DIVA was exactly what I was looking for -- it's just way out of my price range (surprise surprise).

So what I need for now is a good mono EQ for my subwoofer. I need to notch out a few resonant frequencies in my apartment.

Any suggestions?

There's the AudioControl C-131, but it's just a standard 31-channel EQ with no particular emphasis on low frequencies. About $500.

There's a DOD SR831QXLR, which is much the same, but cheaper ($200).

There's a Samson E31i, again the same, for about $200.

And there are two DBX models, 2031 and 3031 for $430 and $625 respectively.

But here's my puzzle:

1) I'm not sure which, if any, of these have RCA jacks. If they don't, I'm not sure which kinds of 1/4" I can convert to line-level RCA (balanced? unbalanced?)

2) Is there any EQ out there designed specifically for a sub? I'd like something with lots of bands in the sub-140Hz range.
