I had a friend over and was completely blown away by the first few minutes of Ice Age- where the little Scrat guy jams his acorn into the ice. The living room literally shook, and the ice and wind sounds came from every direction in the room. This got me to thinking- what other DVDs can I use to really show off the capabilities of my home theater? I have 5.1 DTS Surround, which most home theater buffs have..

So far, I have found the Star Wars movies pretty cool, but the beginning of Ice Age is especially cool. Also, the THX flash at the beginning of Monsters, Inc. with the Cow noise machine was really cool. I've been told that Pearl Harbor is cool, but I don't have that one.

I welcome suggestions..
thanks,
Frank

Pearl Harbor is great during the dog fights. But, the movie is more a love story.

The best scene in AF1 is wjen the jets scramble and catch up with the plane. When they circle around, they really circle around!

Another suggestion: the new DVD of Yellow Submarine has an incredibly well-remixed soundtrack.

Got to agree with e pereira, Blade 2's DTS track is fabulous (not listened to the DD yet). Also, if you want all your speakers going try JP3, Chapters 5 and 6 from the plane crash to the end of the TRex. That's what I'm using at the moment.
