I've been thinking that it should work to send a digital signal with a composite videosender/reciever. This should work since the composite signal in profesional installations go via video distrubution amplifiers that also work with the AES/EBU standard digital audio. And this is better than CD, 48khz/20bits.
Have anyone tried this? It should be very interesting to place my cd-changer in another room with a videosender/reciver solution that would send the remote signal AND digital audio.

After reading your question, I decided to give it a try. I used the video sender from x-10.com. I went from the s/pdif out on my computer to S/pdif in on my Sherwood receiver, and to my amazement, it WORKED!!!! Thanks for your idea! It saved me from having to run cable through the house to listen to MP3s on my stereo. I can also now send a mix from my multi track recording software to the stereo for a real world listen to my mixes.

I'am glad that it did work. Now, the only question is will this solution add alot of "garbage" to the digital signal? Of course this should be okey if the sender/reciever has enough bandwide and a stable signal.
It would be interesting to compare this with a direct connection.
Best Regards Peter
