I am in the process of making my own interconnects. I looked at Radio Shack and they have a gold plated s-video connector for about $5.00 and a 30' spool of s-video cable for about $20.00. Has anyone used this cable? Does anyone know if it is as good as other commercial cable? Are the connects good? The price seems pretty good, I'm just worried about the quality. Some of the stuff RS puts out is junk, while some of it is pretty decent. Any opinions?

The cable that they sell is bottom of the barrel. By the time you buy the cable and connects and spend the time, you could buy a good cable like Tributary or Monster for close to the same money. They sell pre-made interconnects made out of the same cable. Buy some of those, check them out in your system, then take them back for a refund. Some RS stuff is decent, but their "high end" cable is anything but.
