Hi all,
If anyone is interested, I have found a really excellent material for making cheap projection screens (ie. New Year's Party where you don't want to risk your "real" screen). My local HomeDepot store is clearing out the old room darkening vinyl binds that come on rollers and pull down over a window. Anyways, if you can still find the old fabric, nasty looking peach or blue cloth blinds - on the backside is something that looks very similar to my "real" 1.0 screen. This is not like the other vinyl material that is sold on some of the cheaper blinds, it is uniform, textured and has somewhat of a pearlesence / reflective coating to it. In fact, I think it looks a little better than my screen.
For 10 bucks I picked up one that is 55x76 something inches. Almost a perfect 4x3 screen size.
Ps, tear it away from the roller and staple it to the backside of a 2x2 or 2x4 frame and you have a screen perfect for the new year and any of your drunk friends!
Man - I hate finding a ten dollar solution to a 600 dollar motorized screen I just purchased!
