Im interested in buying a projector for home theater use and was wondering if you could suggest some good models that are around. Im new to the projector idea, so I dont really know of any.. Ive looked at a few for around $6,500 AUS they seem ok to me. Ive seen some LCD and DLP projectors and find the DLP a better buy, yet some are much more expensive, topping around $12,000 - $20,000! Does anyone know of some good DLP (or bright LCD projectors) projectors for less than $10,000 AUS?

Might want to check AVS Forum with a question like this they discuss projectors much more then here. Now if you want to talk about remotes........

Seems to be a lot of good things said about the new Panasonic PT-AE100. Low price (should be about $5000 Aus),16 x 9 capable and very long bulb life. For an entry-level home theatre projector, this seems to be great value!

I own a Panasonic TH-AE100 and it is a really great entry level home theater projector. It is best for DVD and HDTV. NTSC sources look pretty rough on it, even through a scaler. I would recommend it especially at the price point.
