Is anyone aware of length restrictions on S-Video cables? Also I am trying to remote locate equipment in the basement with the exception of a VCR which I need to have local. My VCR accepts rca cables only for video & audio, so is there a restriction on length of rca cables from the receiver and/or dss receiver to the vcr?

As always cable quality will affect performance, but you shouldn't go more than 50 ft without an amplifier.
One source to check distribution amps would be ChannelPlus.com.

Good luck
