Would someone kindly take pity on me and tell me the best way to hook up the following to make the most of what I have:

H/K Festival 80
Sony KP-61XBR48 TV
Sony SAT-A3

and a
Pioneer DV525 DVD.

The DSS,TV & DVD all have S-video jacks but the HK only has composite's. How should I connect the pieces together? Can I connect the audio on the three to the H/K through the RCA's and connect the video directly to the TV using the S-jacks ? Also can anyone suggest decent cables ?

TIA

Yes, connect the s-vid's to the tv (if you have 2 inputs). Connect the composite audio's to the receiver. The cable question is always disputed, many people are finding that the cheaper cables do just as well w/ decent equipment. Start with the included cables, if you are not happy, go pick up some higher priced one's at a place where you can return them if you can't notice any better performance.

Thanks...., I suspect that all of the, separate, composite audios from the DSS, DVD and TV must all go into the receiver rather then go into the TV and one composite out from the TV to the H/K only, correct ??

Right, you want a comosite audio from each source going to the receiver so you can select the audio source (DSS, DVD, TV). Since you didn't list a VCR, it makes it pretty simple to wire. You will select the audio from the receiver and the video from the tv.

Just purchased a Marantz AV-550 tuner/preamp and love it! Trouble is, I want to be able to turn on my amplifier (not marantz--a parasound 806) with the 'remote control output' but can't figure out what kind of switch/relay to use. The 'output' sends a very small surge of DC voltage (approximately .3 volts) at turn-on and again at turn-off. Any ideas or suggestions????
