Is there an available product/kit that will allow me to somehow mount my VCR to the top of my 20" TV? thanks!

There are shelves designed to sit on top of a computer monitor, I see no reason they wouldn't work with a commercial TV just as well. See below for an example.

Guys; Is there a concern about sheilding the TV from the VCR or vice versa?

No concern for shielding a far as I'm aware. I already have a cable box and TiVo beneath my wobbly TV.
