Does anyone know where I can get a reasonably priced (cheap) SPL (sound pressure level) meter in the UK?

Thanks,
Bruce.

Bruce; try:
[Link: cirrusresearch.co.uk]
they may be able to direct you.
OR order from Radio Shack US (international orders)
The !ANALOG! SPL below: (MUST be an analog)
[Link: radioshack.com]

$39.99 US, Brand: RadioShack Cat.#: 33-2050

For Interational orders check:
[Link: radioshack.com]
It should come to about $50-60.00 US total.
Dougofthenorth (Thanks again Matt!!)

Try

http://www.hagarselectronics.co.uk/

According to their site they sell Radioshack/Tandy products... and it might be cheaper than trying to import one direct.

Doughofhtenorth, why do you say that it has to be an analog SPL meter? Is a digital model not suitable?

Allan,

The digital model will work, but the analog model is MUCH easier to read and use for HT calibration. Unfortunately, I thought more expensive must be better, and bought a digital one before I could be set straight... :b
