I would like to use my Pronto to control my overhead lighting (360W, 6bulbs)... nothing complex, just on/off and dim (50%). I have done some research (here and other places), and have decided that the Lutron SPS-600 is the dimmer that I would like.

In addition, I have put my Sanyo PLC-XP18N LCD projector in a soffit, and have added a cooling fan. The fan on/off is on a wall switch in the back of the room. I would also like to add it to my Macro so that when I "Play a Movie", among other things, my pronto would send IR codes to my lights to dim them, and to my Fan to switch to On. What should I use for my fan control switch?? HELPPPPPPPPPP!!!!

Don,

The simplest and cheapest way I can think of is to use the X-10 IR Command Console ($30) and either an X10 appliance module ($10) OR an X10 recepticle ($18). Get the X-10 ON/OFF codes from RC and your set!

The IR command console receives IR commands and then converts them into X10 commands that travel on your existing AC wiring to the module/receptical. Try to plug the IR command console into a recepticle that is on the same phase so you don't have problems with it working. If you have an IR emitter on your projector, you could simply put the command console in the soffit with the projector and use a twin emitter (xantech 284M) and run one emitter to the projector and the other to the command console window.

Don,

I meant to post this URL [Link: smarthome.com] as a resource. There may be better prices so you might want to shop around, this is just a place I know that sells the stuff.

The better price is here:

[Link: homeautomationnet.com]

The device is really called an IR543. The 4040 is the number smarthome gives it so that you can't easily comparison shop.
