I have a Pioneer progressive scan DVD player and have noticed that I can hear it spinning while watching a movie. Is this common or is something wrong with the player?

We installed the first series of Sony DVD players a few years ago and they just about all made quite a bit of spinning noise (kind of a scraping noise) and I actually tried to hide it from the customers by closing the cabinet or making sure the volume was up enough to drown it out, but I have not noticed the problem since then in any players we have installed.
