Do NOT bother with the Dolby disc. I bought it thinking it would be a good way to demonstrate Dolby digital. It says it has 7 trailers (rain, city, train ect.)What it does not say is that the trailers are only 3 or 4 seconds long. A total rip off. The rest of the disc consist of the history of Dolby and Dolby digital but is more or less one big commercial. Bottom line...I wasted 20 bucks!

You may want to check out AVIA's Guide to Home Theater. Not really demo disc but a disc to set up your HT components. Tons of info and test to set up video and audio.

The DTS Test Demo #4 is a great demo disc, especially for $10. For $30 or $40, you can scan ebay and get different demo discs too.

Demo #4 has the DTS logo demo, Eagles - Hotel California, The Haunting, Saving Private Ryan, Sheryl Crow, Roy Orbison, and a couple others. The Eagles and Saving Private Ryan selections are worth the price alone, incredible source material.

We often use this disc when comparing review units and also just to show off our components... :)

For those of you with DTS Demo Discs, I have some custom cover art for them that you can print and put in DVD keepcases. Go here:

Video Essentials has some short clips on the end of it, but I haven't seen any of those on Avia.

Check eBay. There is a DTS demo disc #5 (which I liked a lot more than #4) currently for $14.50 with 16 hours left in the auction:

There is also a #4 disc with 5 days left. Go to eBay to the Movies : Movies : DVD section and do a search for "demo".
