Can I use my cd input jacks (2 jacks) on my Dolby Sourround Pro Logic receiver for my Dolby Digital DVD player?

Will I get 5+1 digital sound, or just Dolby Souround Pro Logic.

Or do I have to buy a receiver with multi channel input (6 jacks).

To get Dolby Digital you either need a receiver that has the decoder built-in (and you run a digital/optical cable between your DVD player and it) or you need a DVD player with a decoder and a receiver with 6-channel input jacks. Otherwise you'll just get standard Dolby ProLogic. It's completely different technology. It's better to buy a receiver with the decoder.
