I own the Mitsubishi VS-70803 and have been hearing all sorts of things about how Mitsu has abandoned their HDI interface technology and are requiring me to get a converter (when it becomes available) in order to get HD TV on Direct TV (Satellite)EVEN WHEN THEY RELEASE THE MITSUBISHI SATELLITE RECEIVER IN EARLY 2000. Have any of you Mitsu owners been following this? I have a very big problem with this especially because I just bought my TV 4 months ago. They had to have already made all of their interface decisions even while they continued selling the VS-XX803 line.

Scott,
The new Mitsubishi HDTV sat set top converter box will be adaptable to your tv set. instead of having the 5-rgb plus sync system, i believe that it'll be an HD component video in. basically, all you have to do is go to radio shack and get female composite to male BNC connectors (75 cents ea) and insert in the 1st 3 connections!!! I will have the full info on how everything will work within the next 2 weeks, email me if you are interested!!!

John,
That's a great idea to "back-door" the box. My point is that it is ridiculous for me to have to convert anything on my essentially brand new Mitsu TV to accept Mitsu's new decoder box. I'm not sure if you are talking about the component video inputs that I have my DVD running into or if your talking about converting the inputs next to the HDI interface within the HD input area in back of the set. Most importantly, how are you going to know in 2 weeks? Have you got a Mitsu box coming that early? Very curious and waiting in suspense for your reply,
Scot
