I was just tired of having 4 remotes and went to some store to buy a multi functional remote.
I cant get it to repeat the volume signal by holding the button. I need to tap it 50 times to change the volume from 0% to 50%. This problem is the same on all my four deviceses (LG TV, Creative sound system, Popocorn hour, Samsung cable box).
I have read on the forum that one should hold the button of the other remote when you teach it the command, but that does not help me, and I think that only works with newer Sony remotes.
Is it possible to learn THIS (RM-VL600) remote to repeat the volume signal? If so, how?

If you push the original button briefly, then that's exactly what almost all learning remotes will capture: a brief push. For a repeating signal, you always have to hold the original button down until the RM-VL600 finishes learning.
Now you say you've done this - are you sure? Also what are these commands for; I'm guessing the Creative system? What's the model number (in case there's something odd with it).
You can also try some of the learning tips on this page which might get around the problem [Link: remotecentral.com]
