Yeah, I just ordered mine from them about two days ago. I had to call them up (the number is somewhere on their web site). They said they were revamping their web page.

Anyway, it is still about $125 + s/h, but they said they won't have any in till about 12/15.

You can have it from J&R, but you need to call at 1-800-221-8180. I called today and ordered it for $130 (inclufind s/h).

I called Computability.com on the 15th of December. They said they were getting them in on the 18th or 19th, and the price was still 129.95 including shipping.

I just called J&R(12/16/98) and they gave it to me for $124.95 + S/H(2-day UPS) = $131.24

I can't wait to get it. Don't you love Christmas shopping for yourself? Of course, my wife will flip that I bought a remote control for $130.

J&R just quoted me a price of $149.99 plus $15 shipping to St. Louis "in time for Christmas".
(Today is Thurs. the 17th). Whats up with that?

Just tell J&R when you call that Computability.com has it for $124.95. He asked if I would buy it now if he matched and I said yes .

Just got off the phone with J&R. They matched the computability price but it took some doing to get them to ship for the same price Jesse got. Thanks much - you saved me some $$!
I should get it Tuesday.

I just set up my new surround sound system, and I have so many components, I must now have 8 different remotes. I love my new Sony TV - the Wega XBR 36" flat screen). Anyway, I've been looking for a universal remote, and I see this RM-AV2000 in a catalog called "Frontgate" listed for $159 plus 8.25% tax plus $16 shipping, for a total of rougly $190. What a rip. I tried to find it in Circuit City, but they didn't even know the item existed (so much for service). I called The Good Guys, and they were selling it for $169. I checked out the Sony website to find what retailers in NYC carried it. The only one's listed were PC Richard and J&R. I called PC Richard, and they said I could "special order" it, whcih would take about 2 weeks. Sheesh. Thank goodness I found this board. I went to the Computability.com website and ordered it for $130 including shipping (UPS). I can't wait to get it in a few days. I will report back my findings. My wife will have a fit too, but if I can prove I saved $60 (by showing her the Frontgate catalog) I'm sure she will cut me some slack. Hope your holidays were great!
