I recently got a Sony STR-DA5300ES dirt cheap ($2 cheap) however I didn't get a remote with it. At the moment looking around the factory RM-AAL008 remote seems to have a pretty high used price, almost the price of a decent universal remote.

I'm curious to know if any other Sony home theatre remotes would work just for the basic menus and such. I don't particularly care about being able to change between all the inputs or tuning or even volume, just that I can get into the menu system as it seems you can't do it from the front panel alone. Based on my almost non-existent budget I only have about $30 I can spend on a remote but that's not to say I can't spend more later.
