Hi,
I wondering if anyone had any information about a very old Sony remote model. I own a SA VA 15 Home Theater System, and recently lost the RM- J15 remote that came with the unit while moving. Searching the web, I found the RM- J 55, which is a very similar, if not identical remote control unit. Unfortunately, this remote belongs to another system model, the SA VA 55. These models are all obsolete, and therefore hard to find nowadays.

Does anyone know if I will be able to use the RM- J55 remote model with the SA VA 15 Home Theater System?

If not, would there be any universal remote model from Sony, which I could use to replace the RM- J15?

In case you just want to control the Sony system, as opposed to getting that exact remote, consider this thread.  Lots of remotes can control this HT system, and many more UEI remotes can be custom programmed manually to send the IR signals.  Any Atlas remote (excepting the very recent 1056B03) has setup code Audio 0689.  These are easily available on eBay.
