Title says it all, so Im looking at the Sony RM-VL600 and RM-VL610. Looks nice and inexpensive but I have one question, do these operate like the Logitech Remotes where if for example, I have it set to my cable box, can I set it so changes the channel with the cable box, yet uses the TV or receiver for volume? Am Im asking too much? Thanks.

There is a volume override function which will allow you to select either the TV or receiver, but not both. You can also learn the volume function from the device you want to use.

The default is "audio devices via receiver and video devices via television", but that can be changed to "all devices via receiver". However like Ron says, this can all be overwritten to whatever you want with learning.
