I am getting a Sony E9000ES surround processor which uses the same remote as the 50ES. I would like to know if this comonent, the 50ES, can be controlled by the RM-AV2000 or is the 50ES like Vision Touch and not controllable by the RM-AV2000

Yes and no. It will operate most functions, ie Input switching (when in Amp mode), Sound Field adjustments, volume, etc.

There are some issue with the RM-AV2000 learning codes from the remote that comes with the 50ES. I was on the phone with Sony for over 3 hours total trying to accomplish certain things (things described in the manual that should work), but was unsuccessful. According to Sony, the RM-AV2000 cannot learn a lot of the functions from the remote with the 50ES, due to the fact that the 50ES remote sends the information to fast, and some if the codes are to long.

Basically the RM-AV2000 does a fine job. It eliminated having 6 remotes, but I do still keep the 50ES remote on the coffee table.
