I have a Motorola digital cable box with DVR. I am trying to program the remote, but struggling considerably. My two main concerns now are, why do the fast forward and reverse buttons on the remote not work when watching recorded shows from the DVR, and also, the Motorola remote has 3 buttons labeled "A" "B" and "C" to push for options to record, delete programs, etc. Any recommendations on how to program those onto a "learned" setting? I cannot find 3 sequential spots on the remote where it would be convenient, they have 'reserved' spots there that come up "info" "exit" and "favorites". Anyone know what I'm talking about or can help? Thank you very much.

You will have to learn missing commands from the original remote.

Pick out buttons which are convenient for you or are easy to remember to program these commands on. If necessary, you can relearn certain commands on other buttons in order to use the original buttons for more frequently used commands.

I usually use the joystick buttons to program my VCR commands on for stop, play, etc.
