Hi
Tried for LONG TIME to manually search for the code for this player

It's very unlikely that a code exists. Do you have the player's original remote to learn from?

unfortunately not - thats why I'm using the Sony.
Why would a code not exist ?

Well, for example I've never heard of that brand... and maybe Sony hasn't either. Since these are OEM'd from some other company they'll usually use someone else's code structure... but the question is whose. You searched, which pretty much indicates that there is most likely not one.
For sake of being complete have you tried the DVD/Receiver combo or VCR sections? Remember a code search only searches through one set of numbers... and for DVDs that's 0###, while DVD/Receivers are 4### and VCRs are 1###.
