I took a battery out to keep my kids quiet. I replaced the battery. Nothing. Dead. I replaced ALL the batteries with fresh Duracells; checked all the contacts; checked the batteries with a battery checker; re-installed the batteries; cleaned all the contacts. Nothing. Dead. Checked the batteries and the contacts again. Rechecked the battery installation ad nauseum. Nothing.

Any clever thoughts? There is NO reason for this to be dead. Just took out a battery and put it back.

Is there a chord or button combination to awaken this remote. I have checked the troubleshooting section of the manual. Nada.

Please help.

The only thing I can think of is that you somehow locked the remote, although it is hard to do that by accident. See page 77 of the manual for unlocking.

I'm not sure if this is applicable, but you can check out this thread to do a complete reset, and there's some other tips there that might help you.
