I have a Song RDR-VX555 VCR/DVD recorder. I must have done something wrong, because now whenever I press a button on the remote, including Power, the screen on the player shows "DVD 3" and that's it. I don't know what I did or how to correct this.

I was able to program the buttons on the bottom for the TV OK--those work fine--but the rest of the remote has the above problem.

Help!

Mark

You must have inadvertently changed the command code on either the remote or the recorder. See page 22 of the manual to correct this problem.

You can click here to download the manual and codes for your remote if you need one.

It was the remote that was changed, when you see DVD 3 in the front panel, its telling you want codeset the recorder is actually set to, and DVD 3 is the factory default codeset for dvdr's.

You might want to switch the recorder to DVD 1 anyways, so more remotes will have a code that works it.

I solved this problem using a suggestion from another forum.. Hold the ENTER key and the #3 button simultaneously for 3 seconds. and you are good to go!
