Assuming I can locate discrete codes for on/off, video inputs, and etc, can the Sony RM-VL600 accept discrete codes?

My Sony TV has seven video inputs and two cable inputs. I use one cable input, Video 6, and Video 7. The Sony remote doesn't directly select any video input but cycles through active video inputs. I am hoping that discrete codes exist for my Sony tv and that I am able to load them into RM-VL600.

Can this be accomplished, and where can I find these discrete codes?

Thanks!!

Depends on what you mean by "locate". If you mean find them online and want to enter them directly into the RM-VL600... then no.

But if you have ANOTHER remote that can transmit the codes, so that the RM-VL600 can learn them, then yes.

Thanks Daniel for your reply. Can you suggest a inexpensive and simple to use remote that will accept codes that I can ultimately use to teach my RM-VL600?

Check out these two threads for more information on advanced/discrete codes. As stated in the thread, the OneForAll 6820/8820/10820 will allow you to use advanced codes, as well as the Radio Shack 15-2142 (but this one doesn'thave an amp function).

These remotes use 5 digit advanced codes and some advanced codes are only 3 digits, so just put 2 zero's in front of the code.
