Unbelievable. I stepped on my CD, thanks to my dog, before installing the usb drivers. Any chance someone can send/post these drivers somewhere. I am running xp pro, and have downloaded the software from sony's site, I just need the drivers. Any help is appreciated.

Update:

Sony told me to go buy another CD... Is there anyone that can upload an image of the CD, or at least the very small driver files for XP. I am in dire need, as I did not get a gift receipt with this item, so it is not so easy to go back to where it came.

Do you still need the CD? You can download the entire CD off the support site. If not I have the disk as well!
Thanks

Hello-
As I happens, I am another user who does need the driver. Could you zip and send me your CD contents?
Sony provides an EXE on their website which only updates the Remote Editor to ver1.1, but does NOT contain the USB driver...very frustrating!

Thanks,
Ray

Shopping for a remote is overwhelming. This one has caught my attention lately.

Comments on this remote appreciated? I have a Plasma, AVR, DVD, and HD Cable box... Using component video for both DVD and HD on Plasma... AVR does not support Component.

Thanks!

I have the RM-AX1400. I do not have the USB driver. I called Sony and they said I had to buy it. Is there anyway that you still have the cd with the driver? If you do, could you e-mail to me?

Thanks,
Paul

The driver is included in the AX Remote Editor 1.1 software available on Sony's support site ([Link: esupport.sony.com])

Download it, run it and it'll create a folder on your desktop called Sony_AX110006220. Plug in your remote and when it asks you for the drivers, point it to the folder on your desktop and it should work.

Good work and thanks for the info.

If anyone finds this thread but needs the download for the RM-AX4000, here it is.

The USB drivers are not included in the sony download. If you need them, I have a copy of the CD contents which can be downloaded here. Please note that the CD contains V1 of the software, you can download V1.1? from the support site listed and use the zip file as the location to find the USB drivers when you first plug in your remote.  Have fun.

PS- I prefer my Harmony 550 to this Sony, much easier to program and much cleaner user interface.

If anyone had problems when upgrading to windows 7 64bit because the 32 driver will no longer work, download and install the windows XP virtual PC for windows 7 from MS.
Then install the version 1 software into the XP virtual PC from the drbones post above. (the v1 has the drivers) Once the driver from version 1 is installed in your virtual XP PC you can uninstall the software and then install the latest 1.1 software into your virtual XP machine. (BTW THX drbones for the drivers!)

Thank you so much dr bones. I have had this remote for years and I was finally able to get it to work because you provided the drivers. Awesome. Appreciate it.

I realize this is a long shot but would any of you still have the USB drivers?
I'm on windows 10 but I'm willing to try a hyperV or even running vista off a USB
