I have purchased this remote second hand but unfortunately came with no installation CD. Have found the editor software on the Sony website but does not contain the USB driver. Any ideas where i can locate them.

Thanks

What version of Windows do you have? XP should have built in drivers.

You need the disc to install the USB driver. Without the disc you cannot do anything with the 4000. If it hasn't been set up before you could manually program it, but that only gives you limited control.

If it has been set up before for PC programming, you cannot switch to manual programming without the disc.

You should call Sony Electronics Support at 1-866-922-7669 to find out how to get a replacement disc.

You can download the entire software package at Sony. [Link: esupport.sony.com]
I tried 5 times, finally "chatted" with Support tonight, and it will not work with the 64 bit Operating System!!!
It was designed for the 32 bit systems only and no updating nor upgrading has been or will be done.
i hope that helps save some of you some time and effort. I could have used the info, yet Sony didn't say it was only for the 32 bit systems... Argh!!
May THE GOD of ALL CREATION Bless You in your endeavors.

Does anyone have the original disc? The download on Sony's site does not contain the USB driver, nor does the original file available for download here contain it. I would pay for a copy of it

Thanks

Rex

Or, how can you reset the remote to factory specs without connected to computer when it's been programmed with AXEditor beforehand?
