I am new to the device and get the msg noted in the title. The remote is for a Philips TV. Does this mean the system thinks there are 2 potential remotes and it doesn't know which is being used? The system says to 'press a different button and transmit a signal" and then OK and continue. BUt it does this over and over for each button requested. (I am using Remote PC programming with the remote plugged to the program via USB.) The messages aren't very helpful and I find nothing in the manual about this situation. THANK YOU!

I had one remote that this happened with, I think I went through 5 or 6 keys before it finally recognized it. You might have to put it in manually. If you choose the "learn in order" option you can fly through it.

That's what I did. Forget about using the pre programed schemes. Just program every button you want yourself. Make a device Reicever, DVD, Projector etc. and program all the buttons yourself. When youre done you know it will work the way you want it to.

You can also select the brand then preset code, to get something there then learn in what you need.
I will say I didnt see this option the very first time i messed with this remote, After I started a new file it was there.

why have a nice system if you cant operate it, program the remote the right way the FIRST time!
