One of the provided codes works but not to turn the unit on/off. My orignal Yamaha remote has a separate on and off button. Any suggestions and how to program the remote to turn it on and off with the AMP selected and using the POWER button??

You can't do it with just one button because of the separate commands on the Yamaha remote and the way the receiver is set up.
You will have to learn the missing command on another button.
