I'm sure this has been asked before, but does anybody know where I can find the code for the CD changer? I tried manually searching for the code with no luck. I figured someone here would know the code. Again, sorry if it's already been posted.

Sony has two codes for CD players, 001 and 002, but typically these do not provide full support of your changer.

If you have the original remote, learn from it. If you don't, and can't borrow one to learn from, then this is not an option, of course.

If you want to use advanced codes, which are codes accessible through certain Radio Shack/OneForAll remotes, you could get more functions. The OFA URC-6131 will accept these advanced codes, at a reasonable price.

To see what advanced codes are available for your CD, go here.

i've tried both codes (as well as manually scanning) with no luck. i even talked to a tech rep at Sony and they basically said that if one of those codes didn't work than my IR sensor might be bad. i find that hard to believe, but stranger things have happened...i hate to buy the OEM (RM-DX300), just to get my remote to learn the codes, especially when i can get a used 335/400 disc changer with a remote for not much more than the remote costs by itself.

When you tried the preset codes, did you try all keys or just the power key? Most sony cd players don't have power command, it's power key is Mechnical, not remote controllable.

I had a CX300 and a $20 Radio Shack remote that I used to teach my VL900 remote.

The discrete ON code of 113 worked fine.

The other commands you can probably pick up from the link that Ron gave.
