Hi guys, been reading this site loads lately and cant help but notice you all know a lot about remote controls!

Im doing a school project on remotes, specifically the RM-V402 and i need some help on 2 things.

1st - I need to identify the rival brands. So far i have a Kamelon 6-in-1, a urc7510 and a 4 Wayunire, but i was wondering if someone could suggest a couple more remotes (especially one from phiilips) in the price range $20 - $60 that you might buy instead of the RM-V402. You can provide pros and cons if you like, but if you could just give me some names so i could start researching that would be super.

2nd - i have to come up with technological developments that would aid the advancement of remote controls. Im a bit lost by this, but i presume it means things like LCD screens (i.e. like the one on the Sony RM-V502) and maybe adding a pager so it doesnt get lost etc. etc.

Brief

"Technological developments
Identify technological trends which might influence the next generation product and produce a brief analysis of the technologies which will be important to the new product.

Performance Specification
Use the analysis of trends which are influencing the market, the technology and the users, give a brief reasoned account of what the future product might be expected to do.
Complete this section with a performance specification table (`must do' list) for the new product. The performance specification table should state what the new product should do and a justification of why each of your chosen characteristics is important to include. A design is not required. Give the most important 10 points, avoiding points which are very similar to each other, obvious features already common in any product of the type and trivial issues."

Im not really at this part yet, just thinking ahead, although i say that, it is due in next week. If anyone has ideas on either of these areas they would like to share id really appreciate your help.

Thanks a lot

Simon
