I own a Sony AV2500 remote which I really like but one thing I have noticed is the interval between button presses seems a little lenghty. (1 second)

Say for instance, when I'm using the navigational arrow keys to thumb through a programming guide, if I press the down arrow key on my remote faster than a second, the remote does not transmit faster than a second.

Is there a way to set the remote to where if I rapidly press the up or down arrow keys it will respond accordingly?
*Beam Interval* is set at 0.

Thanks in advance!

If you learned the commands, relearn them holding the button on the original remote down until the 2500 beeps. This is the most common cause of this problem.

If the original remote will operate properly, then the 2500 should work the same way when the signal is learned correctly.

Unless I'm mis-understanding you, I'm not talking about the programming of the 2500.

I'm talking about the response time between button presses of the remote.

I have IR signals programmed to my AV-2500 from a keyboard. Using the keyboard I can press the navigation up/down keys in rapid succession and my programming guide will respond.

Using the Sony AV-2500 remote, pressing the navigation up/down keys in rapid succession only respond (transmit) in 1 second intervals.

I'm led to believe this is how the remote itself functions. Meaning I can't increase the rate of how fast button presses react.

Another example is if I want to punch in channel "385" I can't punch it in any faster than one digit a second on my remote.

I hope this is a better expanation.

I thought that was what you meant, but then you said the beam interval was set to zero so I thought there must be another problem involved.

The beam interval would be the only thing to cause this, so if you are sure that it is set to zero for everything, then there may be a malfunction in the remote.

Does this happen on all buttons, or only learned buttons? I'm not sure what you mean by learning from a keyboard. Is this an actual keyboard or another remote?

...And if the RM-AV2500 is actually operating properly, this could be some sort of odd toggle-bit implementation.
