I made a statement about a year ago that only databased Sony codes will work in rmav2100 macros. I assumed I was just doing it wrong when you disagreed but now I'm trying again and it still wont work.

I must use input 2 on an early (2000) Sony LCD panel. This is the only 1080i input. I really need to use the discrete "input 2" code in the cbl/sat macro.

It is a good learned code. (I can press the button by itself and make it work fine, it just wont work in any macro or at any speed.)

Any ideas?

Did you learn it from the original remote?

Did you hold the button down until the 2100 beeped?

What's the model complete of the TV, and the remote model number also?

What are the steps in the macro?

Don't remember hearing of this problem, but I guess it'ss possible, so it needs to be checked out.

The code was learned from the original remote and worked fine from the 2100, just not in any macro (at least not on the function keys- if it works on the system control 1,2,or 3 it is just as inconvienent. It needs to work from the cbl/sat and dvd keys to do any good.

my CBL/SAT macro

tv power on
stereo power on
cable box on
stereo tv/sat input
tv input 2

the succesfully learned "tv input 2" SONY command wont work even at the slowest setting

The only other thing I can think of is that the command is being sent too soon after the TV is turned on.

If you manually turn on the TV and immediately press the input 2 button, does it work?

If you need to delay the sending of the command, you can put some keys that don't do anything before the input command.

But this probably won't help because you said it doesn't work even at the slowest setting, so now I am stumped.

Thanks anyway Ron. The power on delay isn't the issue. I think it is just a shortfall of this model that "got by" most everyone.

I always thought the 2100 was great for Sony stuff (and for input 1) but not much else. I'm sure they fixed it in the newer models. Life goes on.
