I HAVE THE RM-AV3100 REMOTE, ALL ITEMS WORK (TV, DVD, VCR, CD) THE AMP OR RECIEVER (HT-DDW665) WILL NOT WORK. I TRIED TO THE CODES FOR THE REMOTE (4001 & 4002) I ALSO TRIED (4003). THE CODES ARE NOT WORKING OR I AM DOING SOMTHING WRONG OR IS THERE ANOTHER CODE? THANKS!

It looks as if Sony has done the same thing to your HT-DDW665 that it did to the HT-DDW660, which is to require the receiver to be changed to AV1 but not give any instructions in the manual for the change. Use the instructions for the HT-DDW650, which I will repeat below.

Remember, the remote cannot be changed to AV1, so you will not be able to learn anything. Since you will need to learn some commands, it will be better for you to leave the receiver in AV2, and just learn everything from the remote. You should still assign the preset code 4001 to the AMP button just to be safe, even though it probably wont have any effect.

I would appreciate it if you would try the procedure below for changing the receiver to AV1, so I can confirm that it works, and then I will add it to my AV1/AV2 thread. Please reply here if it works or not.

1. Turn off receiver.
2. Hold down ENTER and press I/O switch to turn on receiver. COM MODE (AVX) appears in the display. Each time you repeat the procedure, the display changes from from AV1 to AV2 or from AV2 to AV1.

Thanks, it did work when receiver was change to AV2 with 4001 code. I can turn receiver on & off, volume control and that is it. How do I get remote to change video to DVD, CD, turner & etc. There are many functions on remote that do not work. Do I have to learn each function to the Sony remote (example, to change audio from 2ch to movie, to music and etc. Also to change surround sound levels, test tone & etc. How do I make these functions work. Thanks a million.

with your receiver set to AV1, the sony oem remote no longer controls your receiver, so you don't have anything to learn from.

If you start over, keep your recever set to AV2 and learn everything, then the av3100 will have better control over your receiver. The choice is up to you.

Do you think this same process will work with DVD Dream sysytems as well. I
m trying to add one to a URC 950 and none of the preset sony codes will work at all. I've had to manually learn a lot of commands from the origianl remote but there are no discrete codes and I was hoping some of the discretes for other sony reciever products would work. The system in question is a DAV-100fx. Thanks

No, the Dream systems are stuck set to factory default code, and there are no discretes available anyways.
