I posted something similiar in the Changing AV1 to AV2 thread

I have no option for "Command Mode". WTF? I can't use my Harmony 680 to change my sound fields now? That's some serious BS.

Read that thread again that you posted in by mistake. It's there.

Here's a hint: Use find and search for 945. It will come up 3 times.

Here's the directions

On the RM-LP211 remote (furnished with the STR-DA4ES and STR-DB1080 receiver) the RM-LJ304 remote (furnished with the STR-DE945 receiver) and the RM-LJ305 remote (furnished with the STR-DA3ES and STR-DA5ES receivers):
1. Press RM Set Up
2. Move the easy scroll key to select “Command Mode”, then press the key to enter the selection
3. (RM-LP211 only) Move the easy scroll key to select “Main Room”, then press the key to enter the selection
4. Move the easy scroll key to select “AV System 1” or “AV System 2”, then press the key to enter the selection

I saw the directions no problem. (didn't see the part on not posting questions, sorry)

When I press SET UP on the remote and scroll through the options I get:

IR SET
LEARNING
DOWNLOAD
AUTO POWER
BACK LIGHT
CONTRAST
ALL CLEAR

There's no option for COMMAND MODE

Am I missing something? Do you have the RM-LJ304? Do you get something different?

My instructions were taken from page 21 of the manual for the RM-LJ304. A few words were not the same, so I have changed them, but the basic instructions should have worked. As far as I can find, there are no instructions in the manual for the receiver for changing the command mode; they are only in the manual for the remote.

It looks like Command Mode should be on the screen between Contrast and All Clear. I don’t know why it isn’t, but I don’t have either your receiver or remote; I just copy the instructions from the manuals as best I can.

If you don’t have the manual, you can get it here. Maybe you can find something in there to help. [Link: 129.33.22.12]

If you still can’t get it to work, I suggest you post your problem in this forum [Link: agoraquest.com] where they are more familiar with these receiver remotes.

If you get a good solution to your problem, either by yourself or from the other forum, please let us know here so I can change my thread, if necessary.

I didn’t see this thread when I replied to the post in the forum. I have changed my reply. Don’t worry about it, and anyway it put the thread up at the top of the forum again.

In the manual for changing from AV1 to AV2 it gives those instructions, but for some reason I don't get the COMMAND MODE option for my remote.

Thanks for the link to Agoraquest, I'll try there.

GOT IT! After learning the code, you have to hold the button about 1 second longer on the 680.
