I bought the low end Sony remote (402, I think), a while back, just to reduce the remote clutter and was dismayed to learn that I can't get my channel guide to pop up on my TV anymore. I've since done some research and obviously I need a more intelligent remote. The RM-AV2500 intrigues me and looks like I could really toss my old remotes out, once I got it set up (rather than just storing them under the coffee table). The one thing I MUST have is the ability to hit a button and have my online channel guide pop up. My cable box is a General Instrument and appears to be supported. Can anyone tell me, for sure, whether the AV2500 will do the job. (I assume yes, but need a little assurance)...Thanks

If you have the button on the original remote, and you still have the original remote, you can teach it to the 2500, along with any other commands you might be missing. I cannot positively state the command will be preprogrammed in the 2500, but with learning you can do anything you want to.
Do not toss your old remotes, because you might still need them sometimes to learn any unprogrammed commands, and they also come in handy if you want to move a preprogrammed command to another key and don't want to have to use the alias feature.
