Just wondering if many of you are coming from the 2X00 or 3X00 lines of Sony touchscreen or over from Pronto or what other remotes you shortlisted.

rgds,
Andy.

I had the unit that came with my Sony 9000es preamp and I have a Marantz 2000. I checked out the Pronto but decided on the Sony. I got a deal through someone at Sony so it was much cheaper than buying a Pronto. I think the Pronto has some advantages - large user base, many available templates, and a matured platform. The Sony has better layout (IMO) and plenty of potential for upgrades. The potential advantage of the Sony will only be determined in time. Will a os/firmware update be coming on a regular basis as well as software updates and will enough people buy them that a good template base become available? I haven't figured out how someone can upload a template for just one device without overwriting the entire remote. That will have to be obvious if we want to see templates for units become more common for this remote.

Daniel Tonks - do you have a contact at Sony that would want our suggestions form software and OS/firmware upgrades for the remote?
