Hi, can anyone comment on this? Is it just an option to use the supplied stylus or mandatory? Can a fingertip/nail still be used....or are some buttons so small that the sylus is a must?

It's optional, mainly for the calibration routine. The screen is designed to be used with a finger - thus the force feedback. :-)

the tactile feedback on the touchscreen is great.
