Does Sony make a remote with direct access to Video5 or video6? I know I can set up a macro with my RM-AV3000 (vid4 + input), but sometimes fails from TV off state even with delay. If there is none available today, does anyone know of one in the works?

I haven't heard of one, but that doesn't mean there isn't one out there. Instead of (or in addition to) delay, insert timer button presses between tv on and video 4+input commands. Each timer delay is about .6 second, so five timer pushes will give you about 3 seconds. If you need more, insert more timer pushes, but remember they count as inputs to the macro. Since it takes only a few seconds for a tv to be ready to accept inputs, this should work better.

I have a Sony AV3000 and faced the same issues. I wanted direct access to Video5 (HDTV Cable Box) and Video6 Component DVD.

The way I fixed this was to purchase a OneForAll URC6131 at Best Buy for 17.95.

I programmed it with the advanced codes for my tv ( input 5 & input 6 ) and assigned them to two random keys. I then had my AV3000 learn the codes and renamed the VIDEO Keys to Cable & DVD.

The sequence is as follows

On 6131

Press Device (ie. TV)
Press and hold Set until Master Power key blinks twice
Press 994
Press Set (1 blink)
Input the advanced code ( you can find it for your device on the web )
press the button to assign the code to ( Master Power key blinks twice )

Once this is done test the key and download it to the AV3X000.
