Does the AV2000 do the right thing when batteries die?

Does it behave like a Pilot and save your settings or do we have to reprogram, etc?

Other than that, I think my remote prayers have been answered!

I'm quite certain you get more than enough time to replace them, but be sure you have spares on hand. I once found my remote on the floor - someone had dropped it - with all the batteries on the floor. Popped them back in, and everything was as I left it.

I believe you have something like 4 hours to replace the batteries. It may even be longer. The only batteries you really need to worry about are the 4 that actually control the remote, as the backlight batteries don't effect the memory if they die.

Plus, you can always use the backlight batteries as temporary backups! ; )

It may be that you can't lose your signals at all - I know on one other Sony remote I wanted to delete everything but couldn't!

I am just now considering getting an rm-av2000. I do, however, have an str-de915 receiver, and the memory stays intact for about 2 weeks. It's very possibly that this remote could be the same way. It's not as if the remote is a cheap hunk of junk you'd expect not to have such a feature.

The manual says you only have one hour to change the battery's or it will loose all the settings!

Hmm, from experience it seems a bit longer than that.
