·Hello All! I just purchased an AV-300 and so far it’s been great. The manual stinks though! Anyway, I had a question about dimming lights. Thanks to this forum, I learned enough to purchased an X10 IR543 IR transceiver that sends a command to my X10 dimmer switch. The commands were “learned” on my AV-300 by a Radio Shack remote that used the volume button to dim or brighten.

Now, when I use the AV-3000 to dim the lights, I press and hold the label button on the LCD and it dims and brightens beautifully. However, when I set a macro to for ex. TURN ON TV- PLAY DVD- DIM LIGHTS, the dimming takes twice as long that just holding down the label key would take and is very “choppy” and not as smooth as just holding down the label key.

I guess my question is: How can I set a macro to operate as smoothly as holding down a button? I’ve set the time delay to the minimum (50ms) but to no avail. Any ideas or serendipity?

Relearn the codes from the RS remote to the 3000, you may try a long burst, instead of a short burst, or vise versa.

why have a nice system if you cant operate it, program the remote the right way the FIRST time!

Thanks for the reply CB1, but unfortunalely, I've already returned the remote. But if what you say is true on how the 3000 can learn one signal in different bursts, then I'll re-purchase it.

I just wish entering multiple macro steps of the same funtion (bright or dim) can be executed just as pressing and holding that key.
