I'm very glad to see a high-end universal remote to 'match' my Sony equipment. Problem is, I have a universal that SAYS it supports Sony, but doesn't work with my Sony DA80ES receiver. Here's my equipment list:
* Sony DA80ES receiver * Sony S3000 DVD * Sony SLV-775HF VCR * Sony DSS (B1) * Sony CDP-220 200-disk CD changer * Sony JE-520 Minidisc Deck * RCA Proscan 60" (monitor function only)
See any problems with any of this equipment, specifically, the ES receiver and the MD deck?
If not, WHERE can I get one of those remotes? NOW!!!
Thanks for your help...

I can't comment exactly on your ES model, but from what I know all Sony receivers use the same Infared codes. Almost all universal remotes can't learn your remote's component switches though, as they have a long series of codes that also turns devices on.
I also know that the Marantz RC-2000 will *not* work at all with my particular receiver, a GA8ES. Fortunantly, the RM-AV2000 works perfectly, and actually has alternate, shorter component switch commands.

I doubt it'll work with the 90esg. Not even the Merantz 2000 MKII with the higher IR can learn it.
